ADVENT | joy

December 16th, 2007 // Ed Marcelle [lead pastor]

JOY…
…is a hard thing to find.  It has never been my strong suit.  I am not alone, I think, in this.  I found comfort in preparation for the sermon (that did not happen) in discovering that dissatisfaction and longing are part of the struggle to find joy.
I ran into good company.  They were not shoppers [...]

SNOW, SLEET, FREEZING RAIN | and . . . no church

December 16th, 2007 // Phil Taylor [executive pastor]

It’s 5:15 AM and the news seems to be saying that while the actual snowfall is nothing major for a hearty northeasterner, it would appear that we are looking at a high probability of very icy roads because of the snow switching over to freezing rain for a little bit. So, while we are not [...]

ADVENT WEEK TWO WRAP UP| peace

December 13th, 2007 // Phil Taylor [executive pastor]

There are things that are frightening…on going realities in the midst of following Jesus.  When circumstances silence call, when external motion camouflages the constant presence of Christ, there is no peace.
He brings more than the absence of conflict…for a fact He predicted that He came not to bring peace but a sword, but the peace [...]

ADVENT FILM PROJECT | peace

December 11th, 2007 // Phil Taylor [executive pastor]

This past Sunday, on Advent Week Two, we showed an original film project created in house specifically to highlight the disparity between the ultimate promise of peace on earth and the reality that we have not yet achieved this goal.
